Which player/players have the best chance at ending the reign of the big 4 in tennis?

  1. Stan Wawrinka is the first name that comes to my mind. A terrific all-round game and one of the best backhands the game has ever witnessed. His ability to slog it out without giving up makes him a real serious contender for the Top-4. A tad bit inconsistent though.
  2. Next up would be Kei Nishikori, the Asian represent at the helm of the mens tennis rankings. He simply has so much energy and has the game to cause more than a few major upsets. Surely a big name to watch out for in the coming years.
  3. Next might be a big surprise to many, but if I’m not wrong Dominic Thiem is the man.The lanky Austrian has age on his side and if he’s able to be more consistent in the Majors and in the ATP Masters 1000 like he’s in the ATP 250’s, he’s a man to watch out for.
  4. Among the current crop of players, it’s such a tight race between others who could be contenders to dethrone the Top-4. Milos Raonic could be another top contender for doing the honour. Having had a solid record in his service games, if he improves his statistics in the return games, that would be a huge bonus.

Many other talented players may have a sneak peek into the top-4, but these are surely the players to watch out for.

Cheers !!!

  1. Stanislas Wawrinka- the guy has been knocking on the doors far too long but he has a good chance.
  2. Milo’s Raonic- The big serving Canadian has been decently consistent enough but has too be way more than that to end the reign of big 4
  3. Kei Nishikori- the first asian to be in a grand slam final, he also has the potential.
  4. Nick Kyrgios- this name might surprise people but he is only the 2nd ever player to defeat Federer, Nadal and Djokovic in his 1st meeting with them. The guy has loads of potential but it will eventually come to bought if he doesn’t work hard and improve his attitude.

I won’t believe Waw, Kei, Milos have that lethal combination of talent and consistency which makes a player world dominating.. They are good only in pacthes.. Otherwise BIG 4 are no Gods & these players could have cashed in on their chances..

I firmly believe Delpo have all these qualities in him but injuries took all his prime time away from him or who knows we would have had Big 5 instead of Big 4.

I would chose young talent like Nick & A. Zverev. Those guys are improving day & might have the required consistency at the higher level. Only time will tell. And yes I hope Nick will improve his nature with time else it will be almost impossible for him to reach heights..

No one. The reign is ending as they all age and move into new life stages. The other players mentioned in these answers will become dominant in their time, but only as the inevitable sunset of the big four occurs. It is not likely that 3 of the best players of all time will ever all surface in one era again as they did in this scenario.

I don’t think anyone is ready to do dominate the tennis the way the BIG4 did in last decade.

But there few players with good potential to win grand slams in future. Zverev, Kyrgios to name a few.

Kei Nishikori. I’m writing it here: he wins the US Open this year. He’s too quick and strategic to not have won a major yet. Only Djokovic beats him in flexibility, and only Federer beats him in finesse. And he’s still 27!

But I would put nobody over Fed right now. Phew…

Nick Kyrgyios and Sascha Zverev have the potential to dethrone them.

Nick kyrigos could be the one
